Milwaukee Brewers ace Corbin Burnes and closer Josh Hader combined to throw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday night, marking the record-breaking ninth no-hitter of the Major League Baseball season.
The previous record of eight no-hitters was set in 1884, the first year that overhand pitching was allowed.
Burnes, 26, had a perfect game through six innings before issuing a leadoff walk to Myles Straw in the seventh. He threw 115 pitches and finished with 14 strikeouts and one walk, before Hader closed out the ninth.
