TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Loyola entered Saturday night's match as the Missouri Valley Conference's preseason favorite with a road win in league play already to their credit. They exited with a 4-0 victory over Indiana State in front of 415 fans on cool, fall-like evening at Memorial Stadium.
Indiana State fell to 6-5-2, 0-2 MVC on the season while the Ramblers improved to 5-5-1, 2-0 MVC.
The two teams played even for the first 20 minutes as Kathryn Besserman had a look at goal early in the contest but it would prove to be the Sycamores' only shot in the first 20 minutes.
