ST. LOUIS -- Indiana State guard Jordan Barnes has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the League announced Wednesday. Barnes led the Sycamores to a 2-1 record and a second-place finish with wins over Colorado and UNLV before falling to TCU in the Championship game of the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii.
Barnes led the program to its best finish in a non-conference tournament since winning the 1999 Indiana Classic. The St. Louis, Missouri native averaged 20.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists over the stretch. He hit 51.2 percent of his shots, including a 9-of-18 mark from distance.
