ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State's earned the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week award following his performance against Eastern Kentucky over the weekend, the League office announced Sunday. The honor marks the first for Moala in his career and the second of the season for the Sycamores.
Moala, a Mishawaka, Indiana native, finished with eight tackles against the Colonels, including two sacks for 11 yards and a pair of forced fumbles on the final drive of the game for EKU.
As a defensive, Indiana State held Eastern Kentucky to 0-for-3 on third down and 1-for-3 on fourth down in the fourth quarter.
