TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – It was a matchup of the league’s top two defenses but the Northern Iowa offense prevailed as Indiana State fell 61-45 in Missouri Valley Conference play on Friday night inside Hulman Center.
They were led by redshirt junior forward Joyea Marshall with her fourth-straight double-digit performance with 12 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward Rhagen Smith added seven points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Sycamores shot a season-low 27.1 percent and just 25 percent from 3-point range.
Indiana State opened up with a five-point lead behind three-straight buckets from Ceazer, Taia and Marshall.
