FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana State soccer fell to Purdue Fort Wayne 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Hefner Soccer Complex in the teams' first exhibition match of the 2021 fall season.
Maddie Helling started the scoring six minutes in as she found the back of the net on a pass from Jensen Margheim to give the Sycamores a 1-0 lead.
The Mastadons answered early in the second half as Morgan Reitano scored on a penalty kick in the 47th minute to tie up the match. Purdue Fort Wayne took the lead minutes later as Kayla Shebar found the net in the 49th minute.
