FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana State racked up 11 hits as and combined to shut down the Mastodons in an 8-2 midweek win at Fort Wayne on Wednesday.
The Sycamores (18-19) jumped out to a 3-0 lead right out of the gate and never looked back, yielding just one earned run and five hits all game to Fort Wayne (8-29). Three different Sycamores had multi-hit games – (3-3, RBI), (2-3, 2B, RBI) and (2-4) – with Turitto and (1-2) both smacking doubles.
Stober, meanwhile, pitched five complete while only yielding one run and four hits while also punching out a season-high four batters.
