CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The Sycamores gave up a late first half run to Auburn and could not recover as the Tigers downed Indiana State 83-64 in the opener of the Gildan Charleston Classic.
Indiana State falls to 1-1 on the season while Auburn improves to 2-0. The Sycamores were vying for the second consecutive win over a Power 5 school for the first time since back-to-back wins against Ole Miss and Miami (Fla.) during the 2012 Diamondhead Classic.
Jordan Barnes led the Sycamores in scoring with 19 points as he went 4-of-6 from 3-point range while battling foul trouble but also seeing 29 minutes of action.
