ST. LOUIS – Indiana State junior pitcher Gabbi Schnaiter was honored by the Missouri Valley Conference Monday as she was named the league's Newcomer of the Week following her dominating complete game shutout over Cleveland State.
Schnaiter was masterful and nearly perfect in her complete game, one-hit shutout of Cleveland State Sunday. The junior hurler did not allow a walk, struck out eight and retired 15 consecutive batters against the Vikings, whose only hit and runner came in the sixth inning in a 3-0 Sycamore win. Schnaiter was dominant, only throwing 63 pitches in her 7.
