ADELAIDE, Australia – Former Indiana State women's basketball standout Ashley Taia has signed a professional contract to play for the Adelaide Lightning in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in her native Australia.
In her three seasons with the Sycamores, Taia played in 79 games, making 59 starts and scored 800 total points, averaging 10.1 per game. She shot .373 (282-for-756) for her career from the field including a .309 mark (133-for-43) from 3-point range. Taia brought down 315 rebounds (4.0 per game) and shot .715 (103 of 144) from the free throw line while getting credited with 159 assists, 112 steals and 21 blocks.
