TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State football improved to 2-2 on the season following a 16-6 victory over regional rival Eastern Illinois Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
Leading 13-6 in the fourth quarter, Indiana State used a 34-yard interception return from Denzel Bonner to setup a Jerry Nunez field goal to make it a 10-point game with nine minutes left to play.
The Sycamores picked up 19 first downs on the afternoon which led to 343 yards of total offense. The ISU defense was dominant throughout the day, holding the Panthers (0-4) to just 200 yards of total offense.
