GREENVILLE, S.C. – Indiana State women's soccer started off their trip to the Carolinas with a win as they shut out Furman 1-0 Thursday night at Stone Stadium.
Freshman forward beat the defense and scored her second goal of the season in the 49 minute to give the Sycamores the lead.
Furman midfielder Nieva Gaither paced the Paladins with five of their 13 shot attempts on the night. Nora Sampson replaced starter Addison Corn for the second half and made four saves.
Indiana State recorded 14 shots for the match with junior midfielder leading the way with five.
