NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Freshman Monique Castillo hit her first career grand slam and freshman Shaye Barton hit her first career home run but it wasn't enough as the Sycamores fell 10-9 in eight innings to Troy on Saturday.
The Sycamores got their offense going early as junior Erika Crissman drew a walk before Barton doubled to put runners at first and second. Junior Brooke Riemenschneider hit a two RBI single to give the Sycamores a 2-0 advantage.
Troy answered in the top of the first, plating three runs, two earned before adding one more in the second to take a 4-2 lead.
