CARBONDALE, Ill. – A pair of fourth-place finishes, led by a school record performance from Jayla Bynum in the javelin throw, highlighted day one of the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships for Indiana State track and field.
After one day of competition, the Indiana State women find themselves in fourth-place with 11 points, trailing Illinois State (43), Southern Illinois (37) and Drake (27). The men sit in ninth with .33 points.
Bynum, an outdoor freshman, set the school record in the women's javelin throw on Friday afternoon. During her third throw of the competition, Bynum unleashed a toss of 45.
