TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State baseball alum Casey Whitten is scheduled to be inducted into the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024 this weekend in Evansville, Ind.
Whitten, a 1993 MLB Draft selection by the Cleveland Guardians in the second round with the 53rd overall pick, was a three-year starter at Indiana State over his career with the Sycamores.
Prior to attending Indiana State, Whitten starred in both baseball and basketball at Gibson Southern high school. He was invited to the United States Junior Championships for two seasons and went on to star for Team USA in the Junior World Championships in Havana, Cuba, before stepping foot on campus in Terre Haute.
