CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Freshman Avery Taylor put on several strong performances in the heptathlon on day one of the Jack Jennett Open to lead the Sycamores at Northern Iowa.
Going into day two, Taylor sits in fourth with 2637 total points through four events of the heptathlon. Michael Boger is currently in seventh-place with 2469 points and Josh Perry is right behind him in eighth with 2437 points.
Taylor's best performance came during the high jump, where he claimed victory in the event with a mark of 1.98m (6-06.00). He also led the Sycamores in the long jump with a third-place finish at 6.
