TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State guard Ashli O'Neal was recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference Wednesday as she was named to the league's All-Defensive Team.
A junior, O'Neal finished the year ranked 52nd in the nation with an average of 2.34 steals per game and ranked 58th nationally with 68 steals overall. Both marks rank second in the Missouri Valley Conference.
A native of Wyoming, Ohio, O'Neal also led the Sycamores by drawing 25 charges this season.
She leads Indiana State into the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Moline, Illinois Thursday where the eighth-seeded Sycamores face ninth-seeded Valparaiso.
