ST. LOUIS -- A total of 141 Indiana State student-athletes, including seven who earned the Missouri Valley Conference's highest academic achievement, are among the more than 1,500 who have earned selection to the 2016-17 MVC Honor Roll, as announced earlier by the league office.
The President's Council Academic Excellence Award, the highest academic achievement the league bestows, requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average (through the Spring 2017 semester), participation in athletics a minimum of two years, and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.
The seven Sycamores honored with the 2016-17 MVC President's Council Academic Excellence Award are: Trent Lunsford (baseball), Kyle Moore (baseball), Shannon Murphy (volleyball), Brittany Neely (women's track & field/cross country), Maddie Orf (soccer), Bree Spangler (volleyball) and Rhagen Smith (women's basketball).
