The Indiana Pacers took Joe Young with the 43rd pick in the 2015 draft. His reputation is that of a gunner, and he proved that he can handle the semi-pro ranks this month when he led the Orlando Summer League in scoring at 22.5 point per game.
There is some roster redundancy — namely Monta Ellis and Rodney Stuckey — that may make it hard for Young’s skill set to stand out, but analysts are already taking notice of the talent of Joe Young, who team president Larry Bird had enough confidence in to sign to a team-friendly four-year deal (a rarity for a second-rounder).
