On Wednesday evening, Pacers Sports & Entertainment will be honoring the legendary Crispus Attucks teams as a Hickory night honoree. Attucks captured the state championship in 1955, '56, and '59. The 1955 team is of high historical importance, since it was the first all-black school to win the Indiana high school basketball championship. In fact, it is believed that Attucks may have been the first all-black high school to win an open championship in the country. The team is of course widely known for the Hall-of-Fame career by Oscar Roberton that followed the state championships, but the group was far more than just one player.
