Myles Turner and Team USA wrap up Group E play on Thursday morning when they take on Japan in Shanghai.
The USA squad escaped losing a couple of times in regulation and then OT against Turkey on Tuesday. Putting the ball in the basket was a problem for the Americans who made just enough free throws to hold on for the W. This time they will play without Jayson Tatum who sprained his ankle in OT and expects sit a couple of games.
There should be far less drama against the Japanese team that is 0-2 in pool play thus far and boast just two inexperienced NBA players and a former NBA player turned Japanese citezen, Nick Fazekas.
