Ty Lawson sentenced to probation for drunk driving charge in Colorado

Pacers point guard avoided potential jail time for 2015 drunk driving charge on Tuesday. Ty Lawson previously pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired.

Despite the argument for jail time from the Denver County prosecutor, Ty Lawson was sentenced to one year of probation for a Jan. 23, 2015 drunk driving arrest.

After playing for the Pacers on Monday night, Lawson was in a Denver courtroom on Tuesday morning to learn the fate of his case. According reports, both sides were using Lawson's celebrity as an NBA player to make their case.
