Turner Becomes 1st Pacers Rookie Since 1986-87 with 20 and 15

Indiana Pacers forward Myles Turner celebrated his 20th birthday in memorable fashion during Thursday's 92-82 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, becoming the first Pacers rookie since Chuck Person in 1986-87 to record 20 or more points and 15 or more rebounds in a game, per ESPN Stats & Info.

The 6-11 rookie led an otherwise sluggish Indiana squad to victory, finishing with a team-high 24 points, career-high 16 rebounds, three blocks and an assist over 33 minutes.

No other Pacer had more than 19 points (reserve guard/forward C.J. Miles) or four rebounds (four players), allowing an injury-depleted Pelicans squad to nearly come away with a victory while playing without Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon—the team's five leaders in both points per game and minutes per game.
