While their NBA counterparts, excluding those participating in All-Star festivities, were still enjoying the weeklong All-Star break earlier this week, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants were back in action on Tuesday as they hosted the Grand Rapids Drive. But although the rest of the Mad Ants were in uniform at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday, two key players were not.
Rakeem Christmas, who spent the weekend in Toronto at the NBA D-League All-Star Game, and Shayne Whittington could not play on Tuesday because of an NBA rule mandating that players under an NBA contract must take a required week off during the NBA All-Star break.
