We are deeply saddened about the passing of Richard Lugar who was the consummate public servant, leader and friend. This incredible Hoosier gentleman would do anything for anyone and one of the hallmarks of his life was that he treated everyone the same with great respect and kindness. As mayor of Indianapolis and a six-term U.S. Senator, he leaves behind a permanent legacy for our city, state and country that serves as an inspiration to all of us. Indianapolis is where it is today because of his remarkable leadership – which included having the Pacers play downtown at Market Square Arena.
