Paul George has reason to stay away from Team USA and forgo playing in this summer’s Olympics in Brazil. He suffered the worst injury anybody ever has, that I’m aware of, while suiting up to represent his country when he broke his leg in two places during a training game in 2014.
But George has said he plans to resume activities with Olympic squad and Team USA has already said it will leave a spot open for him if he wants. Both Coach Mike Krzyzewski and Jerry Colangelo, who runs the team, want him back. “We’ve told him we have a spot for him in ’16,” Colangelo told NBA.
