The Pacers are signing combo guard-forward Stephan Hicks of the G League to a 10-day contract, the team announced Sunday.
Currently in his fourth season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Hicks has scored in double-figures in all but six games with the team before this call up, averaging 16.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in 27 contests while feasting on duck-ins and shooting a respectable 35 percent from three.
With promising rookie Aaron Holiday and two-way player Edmond Sumner already struggling to find minutes with the Pacers, the Cal-State Northridge Alum capable of punishing smaller guards and spreading floor isn’t likely to crack Indiana’s crowded backcourt rotation unless the score is lopsided with under two minutes to play, as is Nate McMillan’s habit.
