Pacers sign Alex Poythress for remainder of the season

The Pacers announced Thursday they have signed forward Alex Poythress, ending his two-way contract designation with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Poythress averaged 20 points and nine rebounds in six games with the Mad Ants, but for the bulk of the season, the forward out of Kentucky has been with the Pacers. Since the two-way contract only allows 45 days with the NBA club, the Pacers decided to fill their remaining roster spot instead of sending Poythress to the G-League for the rest of the year.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Poythress will make $778,000 this season which is now guaranteed.
