The Pacers heard some bad news hours before playing the Wizards on Monday when it was determined that starting point guard Darren Collison would need arthroscopic surgery to clean up lingering discomfort in his left knee.
The prognosis for return is 2-3 weeks which makes the timing palatable since it includes the extended All-Star break. With Victor Oladipo also out on Monday, Nate McMillan turns to his reserve backcourt of Cory Joesph and Lance Stephenson to fill in for the starting backcourt, but McMillan left his options opened when Oladipo returns to the lineup.
