Social media is a double-edged sword as players can interact with fans and control their message as they broadcast themselves around the planet, but it can also magnify their mistakes to a worldwide audience as well.
Indiana Pacers rookie Myles Turner was trying to give his fans a little glimpse into life on the road for an NBA player, but he made the mistake of revealing the alias he uses to check into hotels with to NBA fans on Snapchat, and in essence, the entire world.
Turner revealed that he was using the pseudonym “Steve Urkel” for this purpose, and goes as far as labelling his luggage with that name as well.
