If there was any doubt last season, there is none now. The Pacers are Paul George's team, for him to lead on and off the court.
He'll make a bold statement to that point in the evening practice when training camp opens on Tuesday, when new coach Nate McMillan puts his players through a conditioning test. They'll all run four lengths of the floor, and have to hit a cutoff time – 60 seconds for point guards, 65 for centers, with everyone else falling between. They'll do it five times, with a two-minute break.
McMillan offered George the opportunity to sit out, because of the time he spent with the Olympic team over the summer and the supposed need to take some time off from training.
