We suspected this much after a confusing change to his Twitter bio, but Lavoy Allen will not be coming off the Pacers bench next season. The team has declined the backup big man’s player option, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Allen’s option was for $4 million next season, a very affordable figure, but after drafting two front court players in T.J. Leaf and Ike Anigbogu, Allen no longer had a role on the roster going forward. To be fair, his role on the roster this season was never very defined to begin with.
