The Indiana Pacers signing of Kyle O’Quinn was very sneakily a great move.
On the surface, he is just a fourth big man in the rotation. We don’t know what his role projects to be on a night to night basis, but it seems like O’Quinn will only play about 750-1000 minutes over the course of the season.
But dig deeper, and it is a great move. He slides into the Al Jefferson role, but there is a key difference here. Kyle O’Quinn is an NBA player, he is one that the Pacers wanted. Jefferson is not an NBA player, he is off to China.
