Indiana Pacers Pick Up Myles Turner’s Third-Year Option

Related Topics: Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers decided on Thursday that they’d like to keep Myles Turner around for a while longer as they picked up the third-year option on the center’s rookie contract.

Turner averaged 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in his rookie season, earning All-Rookie Second Team honors and a spot on the USA Select Team.

The news was announced on the team’s website.

Turner is already worthy of being a starting center in the NBA, so in the short-term, they get great value for a low price. This also gives the Pacers more flexibility as they work on keeping Jeff Teague and Paul George around as their contracts expire in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
