Ian Mahinmi left Game 2 with a sore back, and even when he was playing he didn’t look quite right. He says he will play tonight in Game 3, fortunately, and that is great news for the Indiana Pacers.
Jonas Valanciunas obliterated the Pacers interior as the Raptors evened the series, scoring 13 points and grabbing 7 boards in the first quarter alone. He was devastating in the pick and roll. He dunked lobs. He dined on offensive boards. He has 16 offensive boards already in this series.
And while Myles Turner has done some nice defensive work against the Raptors so far, his skills and experience level are more suited to rim protection — not dealing with the dual threats presented by the Kyle Lowry/Valanciunas pick and roll.
