While the Comeback Player of the Year Award unsurprisingly went to Paul George, former Indiana Pacers center Ian Mahinmi quietly earned recognition on Thursday when the NBA Players Association announced their Players Voice Awards on social media.
Each team voted on who their best teammate was and the Pacers selected the big Frenchman as the best one in the Indiana locker room.
Last year was a special one for Mahinmi, who exceeded expectations of even the most optimistic Pacers fan, cementing his teammates’ support with his performance.
The now Washington Wizards center had his best season in the NBA, setting career-highs for himself in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals.
