The Pacers headed to halftime on Wednesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse trailing the New York Knicks, 66-61.
Two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo scored the first points of the season on a fastbreak layup, but it was Indiana's most recent All-Star, Domantas Sabonis, who dominated in the early going. The 6-11 big man may be known for his work on the block, but he knocked down two early 3-pointers in addition to converting an old-fashioned three-point play on his way to 11 points in the first six minutes of the game.
Point guard Malcolm Brogdon was just as good in the opening quarter, racking up 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting, four assists, three rebounds, and two assists in the frame.
