Looking to bounce back after an 0-3 road trip, the Pacers took a 58-46 lead over the New Orleans Pelicans into halftime on Saturday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
After being bench in the second half of Friday's loss at Charlotte, the Pacers' starters showed plenty of fire from the opening tip on Saturday. The Blue & Gold forced three early turnovers and Myles Turner, Justin Holiday, and Malcolm Brogdon all hit 3-pointers as Indiana opened the game with a 15-4 run.
That prompted a timeout from New Orleans coach Willie Green. The Pelicans got the first basket out of the break on a Tomas Satoransky jumper, but the Pacers responded with eight unanswered points — the last six from Domantas Sabonis — to push the lead to 23-6.
