Back in action for the first time since Monday, the Indiana Pacers headed to halftime on Friday night in Miami trailing the Heat, 58-55.
Jeremy Lamb got the Pacers' offense going early on Friday night, scoring Indiana's first eight points to keep them within striking distance.
The two teams traded the lead five times in the opening frame, but it was the Pacers who took a narrow 27-25 advantage into the second quarter, thanks in part to hitting 4-of-7 attempts from 3-point range.
The Pacers' second unit quickly extended the lead in the second quarter, opening the frame with a 7-0 run that featured a 3-pointer from Justin Holiday, a layup from Edmond Sumner, and a jumper from Doug McDermott.
