Debating How It All Went Wrong Between Larry Bird and Frank Vogel

Our own Tim Donahue jumped on the radio with Kent Sterling yesterday to debate the dynamics that have Larry Bird seemingly ready to part ways with the coach who brought the Indiana Pacers to two Eastern Conference finals in five seasons.

Among the many insights and background on the history of, let’s say, discontent of the Legend, this stands out: “I don’t get the sense that Larry Bird has a plan, other than he doesn’t want Frank Vogel any more.”

Donahue discusses his feelings that Bird has never really been in Vogel’s corner from the start and how differences over issues like the inability, or unwillingness, of the coach to force Paul George to play the four may be at the root of this fissure.
