It was a feel-good story in the midst of a sad story. Damien Wilkins learned he would be waived by the Pacers just before he was granted an opportunity to get his first start of the season against the Chicago Bulls back on January Sixth. While it was an unfortunate outcome, it made sense for the Pacers cap sheet to get rid of Wilkins when they did.
Wilkins made the most of that start, and the Pacers won by 39. But that was the end of his tenure with the Indiana Pacers, lasting just under half of a year.
