BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Young Carson Tyler is a world medalist.
Fresh off his freshman season for Indiana swimming and diving, Tyler secured his first senior medal Friday (July 1) at the 19th FINA World Championships in Budapest, winning bronze in mixed synchronized 10-meter diving with USA Diving teammate Delaney Schnell.
"Carson had a great ending to his first experience on the world stage," IU head diving coach Drew Johansen said. "His composure and confidence in himself and his training was that of a veteran diver."
The pairing was consistent through their five dives, earning a top-five score in each round.
