Tom Allen fired off not one, but two #LEO tweets on Saturday afternoon.
It’s been a good weekend for the Indiana football coach.
Hours after offensive tackle Joshua Sales announced his commitment to IU, Allen received a verbal pledge from three-star safety Maurice Freeman. The Chesapeake, Va. product is considered the No. 13 overall prospect in his home state and the No. 39 safety nationally, per 247 Sports. He chose Indiana over finalists Illinois, Ole Miss and Appalachian State. Louisville, Virginia Tech, George Tech and Louisville were among the other programs to offer.
Because the state of Virginia has moved the start of high school football season to March, Freeman is aiming to graduate early and enroll at IU for the spring semester, according to the Virginian-Pilot.
