The extension of Kevin Wilson as head coach and now the hiring of Allen make one thing very clear: Indiana is finally taking football seriously.
During IU’s win against Minnesota yesterday, news leaked that Tom Allen had been named Indiana’s new defensive coordinator after holding the same position at South Florida. In his one season coaching the Bulls, South Florida finished fourth in total defense (380.5 yards per game) in the AAC. His previous college stops include his stint as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Ole Miss, as well as jobs at Arkansas State, Drake, Lambuth, and Wabash College.
