It took plenty of offense and a little bit of luck, but Indiana survived a battle with Southern Illinois, 48-47. The FCS team who was not supposed to give IU any trouble, gave the Hoosiers all they could handle. SIU nearly stole the game after going for two with only seconds remaining, but its pass attempt was incomplete, allowing Indiana and its collective faithful to let out one huge exhale.
It certainly wasn’t pretty, but for a team just trying to get bowl eligible, Indiana will take it. Here’s what we learned from Saturday’s contest.
