BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana junior right-handed pitcher Jonathan Stiever was selected by the Chicago White Sox in fifth round and the 138th overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft on Tuesday afternoon.
Stiever becomes the 91st all-time draft pick at IU. He is just the sixth pitcher in program history to be drafted in the top five rounds (first since Aaron Slegers in 2013) and the 16th overall player to be picked in the top five rounds. He is IU's highest draft pick since Kyle Schwarber (Round 1, 4th overall) in 2014.
