BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior football manager Matt Stauder is this week's nominee for the 2018 Capital One Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award, it was announced today. Stauder, a sport management and marketing major, works with Broyles Award candidate Mike Hart and the Hoosiers running backs.
Last September, he unexpectedly lost his father to a heart attack. Shortly thereafter, Stauder was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, began cancer treatments in May, finished his 12 sessions in October, and the cancer is currently in remission.
Allen awarded Stauder with the game ball following the team's 2018 opening win at Florida International.
