Opening weekend has come and gone for the IU men’s soccer team, meaning that they might have already gotten their two biggest tests of the regular season out of the way.
On their weekend road trip the Hoosiers suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to No. 5 Wake Forest (2-0) before bouncing back to take a 1-0 win against No. 3 North Carolina (1-1).
IU (1-1) kicked off the weekend against the Demon Deacons on Friday. After a scoreless first half Wake Forest got in the board quickly in the second. In the 48th minute forward Omir Fernandez put the Deacs ahead 1-0 with a shot into the top right corner of the goal from the left side of the box.
