BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A late surge wasn't enough as the Indiana baseball program dropped an 18-10 decision to Illinois on Saturday (April 30) at Bart Kaufman Field.
Illinois (23-17, 12-5 B1G) opened the scoring with two runs in the first, third and fifth inning to build a 6-0 lead. A 10-run sixth inning pushed that advantage to 16-0 for the Fighting Illini, before Indiana (19-24, 5-9 B1G) scored 10 of the final 12 runs in the game. The Hoosiers scored one run in the sixth and seventh innings, five runs in the eighth inning and three in the ninth.
