Another day, another Hoosier off the board. On Tuesday junior southpaw Andrew Saalfrank became the second Hoosier to get selected in the MLB Draft when the Arizona Diamondbacks took him 182nd overall in the sixth round.
The left-hander showcased his great curveball this spring while striking out more batters than any other pitcher doing Big Ten play. After starting the season in the IU bullpen he got a shot in the rotation after an injury and took full advantage. He pitched to a 2.84 earned run average as well as an 8-1 record. He went undefeated in conference play and struck out 98 batters overall.
